Our tradition of attending the annual Xposure International Photography Festival in Sharjah continues. Each year, we find a spot to capture an image that reflects my son’s age—in this case, 13. Xposure is always an inspiring event, reigniting my passion for photography—a passion first sparked by my father.
As is usually the case, I found myself drawn to both portraiture and landscape photography, with works by Andrea Belluso, Martin Stranka and Martin Schoeller. This year was particularly interesting, as Mateo repeatedly asked if some of the images he saw were AI-generated. We then started discussing the blurring of the lines in photography, Photoshop turning 35 and the inclusion of a number of machine leaning and AI features that are now built right in.
